Start to year (PyCon Namibia 2016)
Hi ya’ll,
I trust that the new year is going well. Mine started off with a bang!
Imagine starting the working year with a conference :-). From the 25 -29 January 2016 we held the first ever PyCon Namibia 2016 conference ever. This was actually technically the second conference that focuses on Python and some Django in Namibia. The first even took place around the same time last year. It was called Python Namibia 2015. This specific saw about 70 participants from all over the world. Building on the 2015 even PyCon Namibia 2016 actually had more participants, workshop leaders and speakers from all over the world. For me personally it was the first one that had a lot of people from other African countries (Then again it is only the second one thus far so… ).

For this year the PyCon Namibia 2016 had one of the furthest travelling participants from Canada! yay! But more impressive is that he has very strong roots in West Africa within about 4 countries.
That is the start to the year.
Thanks y’ll,
Laterz,
G!
